Abstract: The results of research on stanum mineralization in lithium pegmatites and metasomatites of rare metal deposits of Shpola and Tashlyk ore regions in the Ukrainian Shield are presented. The mineralization is related with metasomatic processes having been occurred among Paleoproterozoic ultra metamorphic series in the western part of the Ingul megablock. Several consecutive stages of the mineralization have been defined: early oxidic (accessory one) — nigerite; Sn-bearing — gahnite; middle oxidic one — cassiterite (main ore mineral of Sn) and late sulfide one — stannine. Moreover, at the late stages vast amount of stanum was scattered as isomorphic inclusions in spinel, tantalum and niobium minerals, titanite etc. Main ore mineral of Sn is cassiterite. On the results of microprobe research, the nigerites of Shpola and Tashlyk regions are represented by two polysomatic series; 6N6S dominates others. Then, on the distribution of cations of spinel layer, the series fall into subgroups: Fe (TFe — 46—76 at. %) and Zn (TZn — 58—100 at. %). First time in the Pivnichnostankuvatka deposit the separate group of — nigerites with high MnO up to 4.5—6.25 wt % (TMn 29.8—36.0 at. %). The last type of nigerite has been identified first time in the Pivnichnostankuvatka deposit by us.
