Abstract: Died on November 23, 2020, an outstanding scientist-geochemist Erik Mykhailovich Galimov, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of the V.I. Vernadsky Russian Academy of Sciences (now its scientific supervisor), Laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology (2016), awarded the Honorary Gold Medal named after V.I. Vernadsky (2018). The scientist was distinguished by a great breadth and scale of knowledge and scientific interests, and originality of thinking. His scientific works are relevant and popular in many countries, including among Ukrainian specialists.
