A year ago, on May 18, 2016, Yuri Nikolayevich Senkovsky, a prominent scientist-geologist, the member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, professor, winner of the V.I. Vernadsky prize, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, the long-time head of the department of sedimentology of the provinces of combustible mines of the Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a well-known scientist in the field of paleoceanography, sedimentology, genetic lithology and mineralogy of sedimentary rocks passed away.

The light memory of Yuri Nikolaevich will remain forever in the hearts of his colleagues, grateful students and all those who are lucky enough to meet this wonderful person.
